If you have puff pastry in the freezer “just in case”, and ham and cheese in the refrigerator, prepare snack puff pastries.

Place cheese and ham between sheets of dough, cut into squares, brush with egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds and place in the oven. It turns out appetizing, tasty and festive!

Puff pastry - 330 g

Hard cheese - 100 g (8 slices)

Ham - 100 g (8 slices)

Egg - 1 pc.

Black sesame (seeds) - 10 g

1. Prepare your food. Thaw the puff pastry first. It is better to take ham and hard cheese already cut into slices. Sesame can be replaced with cumin seeds or sunflower seeds. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.

2. Place thinly sliced cheese on one half of the dough.

3. Place thinly sliced ham on top of the cheese.

4. Cover the cheese and ham with the other half of the dough.

5. Using a sharp knife or a round pizza cutter, cut the resulting rectangle into 4 strips of equal width.

6. Then cut each strip into 4-5 pieces. The result is squares with a side of about 3-4 cm.

7. Beat the egg into a deep plate. Mix the white and yolk with a fork.

8. Using a brush, brush the surface of the dough with beaten egg - this will give the finished puff pastries an appetizing shine.

9. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the puff squares.

10. Transfer the dough along with the parchment into a baking dish or onto a baking sheet.

11. Bake snack puff pastries in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown (depending on the characteristics of your oven).

12. Carefully separate the hot cheese and ham snack puffs from one another and place on a plate.

13. This appetizer is ideal for a buffet table, as a snack for nature or for school. Bon appetit!
