Yesterday I once again made a cake, and today I’m sharing the recipe and impressions.

This is a version of honey cake, but not a classic one and, to be honest, I really liked it from the first try. If you haven't made this before, I highly recommend trying it. You can experiment a lot with it, adding various fruits, berries or nuts. Let's get started.

To prepare the Honey cake with sour cream, prepare the ingredients according to the list.

Oil - 150 g

Egg - 1 pc.

Honey - 3 tbsp.

Soda - 2 tsp.

Sugar - 150 g

Sour cream - 4 tbsp.

Flour - 600 g

For cream:

Sour cream 25-30% fat - 600 g

Sugar - 1 glass

Berry jam for layering - 6 tbsp.

1. Place honey, sugar, sour cream, egg, soda in a saucepan. Stir, add oil and place the pan in a water bath. Stirring occasionally, keep in the bathhouse for 20 minutes, the mass becomes foamy.

2. Let it cool a little and add warm flour, mix well, I trust this process to the food processor.

3. The consistency of the dough for “Medovik” with sour cream is as in the photo, you want to add more flour, but there is no need to do this. Refrigerate the dough for 15 minutes, during which time it will cool down and become denser.

4. In the meantime, you can start preparing sour cream.

5. Beat sour cream with sugar until creamy. If you took sour cream with a fat content of 30%, then the cream should turn out as in the photo, not liquid. Do not beat the sour cream so that it does not turn into butter.

6. Divide the chilled dough into 6 parts. Roll each part into a circle 3 mm thick and cut it onto a plate.

7. Prick holes with a fork.

8. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 6-8 minutes.

9. After baking, the cakes should remain soft - not overdried or browned. We also bake the scraps from the cakes - they are needed for sprinkling.

10. Let’s start assembling the “Honey Cake”. Grease the cooled cakes with sour berry jam.

11. Then add a layer of cream. To taste and desire, you can add cherries or other chopped fruits.

12. Then the next cake and so on. Lubricate the top and sides with cream

13. Grind the scraps into crumbs and sprinkle the cake with it.

14. Place the cake in the refrigerator for soaking. If you did not dry out the cakes during baking, the cake will be soaked in a few hours.
