Strawberry and White Chocolate Trifle

This is a great dessert from the UK.
Delicious, but unfortunately quite filling. Which, however, is unlikely to stop us, sweet lovers. The classic version of trifle is a sponge cake soaked in wine, custard, whipped cream, nuts and fruit. This version of the English dessert has strawberries, cream, soft cheese, white chocolate. Strawberries can be replaced with cherries.

Sponge cake (ready-made) — 300 g
Fresh or frozen strawberries (defrost) — 650 g
Mascarpone cheese — 450 g
Fat cream, for whipping — 1 cup
White chocolate — 200 g

1. Cut the sponge cake into 2 cm thick slices and line the bottom and sides of a glass dish (one large dish or 6-8 individual dishes). If you are using fresh strawberries, mash them lightly to release some juice and place half of them on the sponge cake. If the strawberries are defrosted, place the juice-free half on the sponge cake and then pour two tablespoons of strawberry juice over it. To soak the sponge cake, place it in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
2. Whip the cream with mascarpone with a wooden spoon. Break three quarters of the white chocolate into pieces and melt, stirring, in a water bath (there is one subtlety here - do not let hot water get into the chocolate, otherwise the mass will not be uniform!). Pour half of the melted chocolate over the sponge cake with strawberries. Add the other half of the melted chocolate to the cheese and cream mixture. 3. Layer the remaining strawberries and buttercream, finishing with the cream. Grate the remaining quarter of the white chocolate on top. Refrigerate the dessert for half an hour. Enjoy!
