Warm cranberry-citrus punch with the addition of aromatic spices. A warming drink on a gloomy and cool day.
Punch can be an alcoholic or non-alcoholic cocktail, but always with the addition of fruit or fruit juice and a large amount of aromatic spices. I associate this drink with Christmas, but, of course, it can be made at any time of the year when you want something warm and aromatic on a cool evening.

Water - 2 l
Cranberries - 500 g
Orange - 2 pcs.
Lemon - 2 pcs.
Apple - 2 pcs.
Brown sugar - 200 g
Ginger (fresh) - 2 centimeters
Cinnamon (sticks) - 2 pcs.
Vanilla (pod) - 1 pc.
Nutmeg - on the tip of a knife
Allspice (peas) - 3 pcs.
Tangerines - for serving
Mint - for serving

1. To make non-alcoholic cranberry punch, use fresh or frozen cranberries. For a more intense aroma, it is advisable to use fresh ginger (not ground), the size of the piece is approximately 2 centimeters.
2. Peel and cut the ginger into slices, cut 1.5 oranges and 1 lemon into thick slices. Remove the core from the apples and cut into 4-6 pieces. I used frozen cranberries; there is no need to defrost them; we will set aside one handful of cranberries to decorate the finished drink. Cut a couple of tangerines, the remaining lemon and half an orange into thin slices - they will also be needed to serve the finished punch.
3. Pour water into a large saucepan (volume - at least 3 liters), add sugar, all the spices, chopped fruit and ginger.
4. Bring to a boil over medium heat, reduce heat, cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 5 minutes at low simmer. Then remove the pan from the heat and leave the punch covered to steep for about 1 hour. During this time, the punch will cool down to the temperature where you can drink it without burning yourself, and it will infuse: spices and fruits will give their tastes and aromas to the drink.
