French-style beef in a slow cooker

French-style meat is usually cooked in the oven, and before this recipe I only did it that way.

For the first time I tried to cook it in a slow cooker. I had no doubt about the success of the preparation, I was only interested in what the finished dish with cheese would look like, because, as you know, it is more difficult to get a golden brown crust in this device. But as you can see, even though it didn’t turn out to be a golden brown crust, it turned out to be a very appetizing cheese coating. And the meat itself turned out very tasty and aromatic.

The main thing is to choose good meat. Choose meat from a young animal or, if possible, take veal. I had young bull meat, so it was fully cooked and was very soft and juicy.

Ингредиенты

Beef (fillet) - 400 g

Onions - 2 pcs.

Hard cheese - 100 g

Mayonnaise - 80 g

Vegetable oil - 1 tsp.

Salt - 1 tsp.

Ground pepper - to taste

1. Rinse the beef fillet under running cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Cut into portions 1.5-2 cm thick. Beat each side with a culinary hammer. Then season each side with salt and pepper.

2. In the “fry” mode, fry the meat in oil on both sides for several minutes.

3. Lubricate the meat with mayonnaise; you can use less if you have doubts about the quantity.

4. Peel the onions and cut into rings or half rings. Place onion on meat.

5. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and place evenly on top of the meat and onions. Place the bowl in the multicooker. Turn on the "Bake/Pie" setting and cook French beef in the slow cooker for 60 to 90 minutes. The time will depend on the power of the multicooker and the selected meat. 60 minutes was enough for me.

6. Serve hot. Choose a side dish according to your taste. Bon appetit!
