The festive table necessarily includes traditional dishes, which are very symbolic. Most Chinese New Year dishes have a “karmic” purpose and are dedicated to deities. Traditionally, a salad is prepared consisting of fish, vegetables and fruits - it is served first on the New Year's table. The Chinese are sure that this salad brings happiness, wealth and good luck.
The main and most important component of this salad is raw fish. In general, in China, fish are treated almost like a deity. The word “fish” itself is pronounced “Yu” in Chinese, just like happiness. The Chinese consider two representatives of salmon fish to be symbols of prosperity, abundance and prosperity: trout and salmon. The fish must be of proper quality. 14. Lightly fry the sesame seeds in a dry frying pan.
