If you are a lover of Chinese cuisine, then you will definitely like pork in sweet and sour sauce.

Buy meat for this recipe with a small amount of fat, preferably a shoulder blade, it cooks quickly and remains soft. In the original recipe, Chinese cooking wine is added to the sauce, but it is impossible to buy it here, so you can replace it with good quality wine vinegar or dry red wine.

Ингредиенты

Pork - 500 g

Soy sauce - 100 g

Tomato sauce - 2 tbsp.

Red wine vinegar - 2 tbsp.

Honey - 1.5 tbsp.

Ginger (root) - 2 cm

Garlic - 1 clove

Chili pepper - 1 pc.

Grain mustard - 1 tbsp.

Pepper, h.m. - taste

Sesame - 1 tsp.

Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp.

1. Pork in Chinese sweet and sour sauce cooks very quickly, so all ingredients must be prepared at once. Peel the garlic and ginger. Rinse the pork under running water and pat dry with paper towels.

2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, fry the meat cut into strips over high heat until beautifully golden brown. The pork should not release its juices or it will become dry, so fry in batches. Remove meat to a warm plate.

3. Pour soy sauce into the same oil, add mustard, tomato sauce, vinegar, honey and chili pepper. If the pepper is very hot, then it is better to remove the seeds. Next, you need to turn the heat down, stirring the sauce with a wooden spoon, and evaporate it until it thickens. If the sauce begins to thicken too quickly, then you can add water little by little. There is no need to add salt; soy sauce more than compensates for its absence.

4. As soon as the sauce begins to thicken, add finely grated garlic and ginger, add ground black pepper to taste, and heat for another minute.

5. Return the meat to the sauce.

6. Mix well, keep the pork in the sauce for a minute or two, turn off the stove. Leave the meat in the pan in the sauce for some time so that it is saturated with all its flavors and aromas.

7. Pork in Chinese sweet and sour sauce is ready, serve with rice - it’s very tasty with it.

8. When serving, sprinkle the meat with sesame seeds.
