I would like to offer you the national German onion pie.

I made it for the first time, but despite this it turned out very tasty. This pie is as filling as any vegetable pie; it can be served with a glass of red wine or beer. Try it and you won't regret it.

Ингредиенты

Flour - 300 grams;

Yeast - 20 grams (2 tsp);

Milk - 120 ml;

Butter - 80 grams;

Salt - 1 tsp;

Filling

Onion - 1 kg;

Lard, bacon - 100 grams;

Sour cream - 200 ml;

Egg - 4 pcs;

Salt;

Dry herbs - to taste.

Рецепт

1. Sift the flour, make a well and add warm milk, yeast, melted butter, salt. Knead the dough and put it in a warm place for 30 minutes.

2. While the dough is resting, we will make the filling. For this recipe, we need 1 kg of onion (I took 0.5, it’s up to you), if you like onions, take more.

3. Cut the onion into thin half rings.

4. The lard should be cut into small pieces, I had ready-made bacon, put it in a heated frying pan and fry.

5. Add the previously prepared onion to the bacon and continue frying.

6. Mix sour cream with eggs, salt and dry herbs, I used marjoram. Let the onion cool and mix together with sour cream and eggs.

7. The dough is ready, roll it out very thin, the thickness should be about 3 mm. We put it on a sheet.

8. And pour the prepared filling over the dough. Let's let it all sit for another 15 minutes to soak in.

9. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and put our pie in it for 20 minutes. This is how we got it!
