For this dish, it is better to choose boneless cod fillet without skin.

I immediately mixed sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth. But, by the way, you don’t have to add mayonnaise at all, but use only sour cream. It will be delicious too.

For the sake of experiment, I prepared two servings of this dish: with and without pita bread. And it would seem that the sets of products are almost the same, but it was the envelopes that were far ahead in terms of taste.

Ингредиенты

Cod - 600 g

Thin lavash - 100 g

Sour cream - 4 tbsp.

Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp.

Tomato (large) - 1 pc.

Onions - 1 pc.

Sunflower oil - 1.5 tbsp.

Salt, pepper - to taste

1. Wash the fish under running water and cut into portions about 7-10 centimeters wide.

2. Cut sheets of thin Armenian lavash into 4 identical long strips so that their width is at least 3-4 centimeters larger than a piece of fish. I didn't calculate the size of my strips and it was difficult for me to wrap the envelopes. And this is important for the fish to be truly juicy.

3. Place a few onion rings on top of a strip of pita bread and cod on top. Salt and pepper the fish to taste.

4. Brush the fish with 1 tablespoon of sour cream and mayonnaise sauce. Then add a few thinly sliced tomatoes. Roll the pita bread into an envelope, folding the edges inward on the sides.

5. Place the envelopes in a baking dish, greased with a drop of sunflower oil. They can be laid evenly, close to each other, or they can overlap, like mine. Grease the envelopes with 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil.

6. All that remains is to evenly distribute the remaining sour cream over the pita bread. This is convenient to do with a pastry brush. Bake cod in pita bread in an oven preheated to 180°C for 30 minutes until golden brown. Cooking times may vary depending on individual ovens.
