Hake in batter

To prepare hake in batter you will need a fillet of this fish.
It seems to be more convenient to buy fillet straight away, but after defrosting it may well disappoint you... But if you decide to buy ready-made fillet, make sure that it at least sticks to the skin. Better yet, buy a whole hake and cut the fillet pieces yourself.
Peppers (black, white, allspice), as well as herbs (dill, parsley or mixtures) are suitable as spices. I tried oregano and mint and it turned out to be a very pleasant flavor.

Hake fillet - 600 g
Milk - 1 glass
Starch - 1 tbsp.
Flour - 1-2 tbsp. and for breading
Egg - 1 pc.
Vodka - 1 tsp. optional
Aromatic herbs - to taste
Salt - to taste
Vegetable oil - for deep frying
Рецепт
1. For the batter, mix milk with egg.
2. Add flour and starch, mix thoroughly.
3. Add the selected spices, here oregano and mint, add a little salt. Pour in vodka if desired; it is added to make the batter more fluffy, i.e. gives more airiness to the dough when frying.
4. Roll small oblong pieces of hake fillet in flour; it’s convenient to do this in a bag.
5. Then prick with a fork, dip the fillet in the batter and place it in the boiling fryer.
6. Place the finished hake pieces in batter on paper towels or napkins to remove excess oil.
7. Serve hake fillet in batter with sauces and side dishes to taste.
