Mackerel fried Egyptian style

This recipe can be used to cook any sea fish, but I especially like mackerel.
Thanks to the spices, its taste is transformed, and lemon juice makes the meat firmer, more elastic and white. Sometimes I leave the fish in the refrigerator to marinate overnight. Very tasty and unusual!
To prepare mackerel fried in Egyptian style, you need to take mackerel (or any other sea fish), premium wheat flour, refined sunflower oil, juniper berries, black peppercorns, cumin seeds, garlic (3-4 small cloves or 1 large ), salt and lemon.

Sea fish (mackerel) – 500 g
Premium wheat flour – 2 tbsp.
Refined sunflower oil – 3 tbsp.
Juniper (berries) – 3-4 pcs.
Black pepper – 5 peas
Cumin (seeds) – 1 tsp.
Garlic – 3-4 cloves
Lemon – 1 pc.
Salt - to taste

1. Squeeze juice from lemon.
2. Peel the garlic cloves from the dry shell and grate on a fine grater.
3. Place dry spices (juniper, cumin, pepper) into a mortar and grind well with a pestle.
4. Add lemon juice and garlic to the dry spices.
5. Mix the marinade thoroughly.
6. Clean the fish, gut it, rinse thoroughly, dry, cut into pieces, add salt and leave for 30 minutes.
7. Spread the pieces with the spicy mixture, place in a bowl, cover and leave to marinate for 1 hour.
8. Roll mackerel in flour.
9. Fry the fish in very hot fat.
10. Egyptian-fried mackerel is ready. Bon appetit!
