Who doesn’t remember mom’s porridge with pumpkin for breakfast? Usually in childhood everyone simply can’t stand her, but then they often remember her with pleasure and even nostalgia.

You can prepare porridge with pumpkin from any cereal, I cooked it with semolina, millet, rice, wheat cereal, today I propose to cook oatmeal porridge with pumpkin. I use frozen pumpkin - it doesn't make any difference to the taste of the dish, it just requires less time to prepare the ingredients (no need to peel and cut the pumpkin). The pumpkin cubes don’t even need to be defrosted; this will happen during cooking.

Pumpkin - 120 g

Hercules - 3/4 cup

Milk - 2 glasses

Salt - 1 pinch

Butter - 30 g

2. Add washed rolled oats.

3. Pour milk over the porridge and cook over low heat until the pumpkin is soft (depending on the variety).

4. At the end of cooking, add salt to the porridge; those who have a sweet tooth can add sugar. I don't add sugar because the pumpkin gives it its own sweetness.
