Radish salads have a characteristic spicy bitterness. Not only are these salads very tasty, they are also healthy, as they are mainly seasoned with vegetable oil, lemon juice, and sour cream.

Radish in salads goes well not only with vegetables (carrots, onions, apples, pumpkin), but also with meat products, for example, boiled beef.

Some recipes advise pouring cold water over chopped radishes to get rid of the bitterness; I make it simpler: I simply squeeze the juice out of the finely grated radish with my hands. The salad is not bitter, but only with a pleasant, piquant bitterness characteristic of radish.

For the salad, you can use not only black radish, but also green Margelan radish. It also has a bitter taste, but it is milder.

Black radish (peeled) - 300 g

Green peas - 250 g

Onion - 150 g

Vegetable oil for frying onions - 3 tbsp.

Sunflower oil for dressing - 4 tbsp.

Salt - to taste

1. Prepare the ingredients for the black radish salad with fried onions and green peas. Peas can be used canned, fresh or frozen.

2. I have frozen peas. Fill it with water and let it cook.

3. Cook the peas over low heat until soft. Drain the water from the finished peas.

4. Wash the black radish and peel it.

5. Grate the radish on a fine grater. Autumn radish is very juicy, so grate it directly into the salad bowl and not on the board.

6. Using your hands, squeeze the juice out of the radish.

7. Peel the onions and chop finely.

8. Fry the onion in vegetable oil until light golden brown. Refrigerate.

9. Place the cooled onions and green peas in the salad bowl with the radish. Salt the salad and sprinkle with ground black pepper.

10. Pour in sunflower oil, not deodorized, and mix gently.

11. If desired, you can sprinkle the salad with finely chopped fresh herbs.

12. Despite the simplicity of preparation and a minimum of ingredients, the salad turns out very tasty; it combines the spiciness and bitterness of radish with the freshness of peas and fried onions.
