I tried adding some herbs to the cheese dough, but for my taste the best options were fresh dill or dry Provençal herbs. Cheese is suitable for many types and varieties; consider its taste when adding salt to the dough, because... Many cheeses are already quite salty.

Cheese waffles are delicious on their own, and can also be the basis for preparing any snacks, such as sandwiches. Try options with fresh vegetables, with vegetable or mushroom caviar, with lecho, with meat or chicken, with pesto sauce, etc.

Flour - 100 g (2/3 cup)

Milk or whey - 100 ml (1/2 cup)

Baking powder - 1/3 tsp.

Vegetable oil - for frying

1. For the dough, first mix milk or whey with egg and sour cream.

2. Add flour with baking powder and aromatic herbs. Mix thoroughly.

3. Grate cheese or cheeses of different varieties and mix into the dough.

4. Let the dough stand for ten minutes at room temperature. The dough does not contain oil, so the working grooved surface of the waffle iron should be lightly greased before each waffle.

5. To bake waffles, heat the waffle iron until the signal (usually this is a light indication - light bulbs). Depending on the working surface, choose a portion of dough for one waffle. My dough model requires three tablespoons.

6. Bake the waffle with cheese in the waffle iron until the steam stops, or you can hold it for a while longer to get a crispier version.

7. Cool the finished waffles on a wire rack. From the specified amount of dough I got 5.5 waffles with cheese.
