Canapes with herring are an excellent appetizer for a home buffet. Sandwiches with soft cheese and herring can be easily prepared at the dacha or on a picnic.
Prepare all the necessary ingredients for canapés with herring. If you want a more budget-friendly option, you can replace the curd cheese with processed cheese like “Yantar” or “Druzhba”.

Rye bread - 10-12 slices
Lightly salted herring - 1 pc.
Curd cheese - 150 g
Fresh dill - a couple of sprigs
Green onions - for decoration
Salt - to taste
Ground black pepper - to taste

1. How to prepare canapés with herring: Cut the rye bread into convenient small pieces. Clean the herring from the head, tail, bones and entrails, cut the herring fillet into pieces. Wash the onion and dill and dry.
2. In a convenient bowl, mix soft curd cheese, chopped dill, pepper and, if necessary, salt to taste.
3. Place a teaspoon of cheese mixture on each slice of bread.
4. Place a piece of herring on top of the bread and cheese.
5. Decorate sandwiches with cheese and herring with green onions.
6. Canapés with herring can be served immediately after cooking.
