Despite the fact that there was not much meat in such cutlets, most schoolchildren ate them to the last crumb. Why is that? Perhaps, for the children of the lower grades, who just don’t like meat, this was just the thing, but for the older children, it was something like crackers with a meat taste)) School cutlets differed from store-bought catering ones in that they contained instead For white bread, black rye was used. They were fried not only in fat, but also in unrefined sunflower oil, but I do not recommend it... Use minced beef or pork-beef in a ratio to taste. Try it! School cutlets cooked at home are very tasty.

Ингредиенты

Minced meat - 600 g

Brown bread - 0.5 loaves (350 g)

Water or milk - about 0.5 cups

Onion - 1-2 heads

Garlic - 1-2 cloves optional

Oil - for frying

1. Cut the crusts from slices of rye bread. Soak the crumb in water or milk and dry the crusts.

2. Crumble the swollen crumb.

3. Add minced meat, salt, ground pepper and chopped onion and garlic.

4. Knead the mixture thoroughly until sticky.

5. Grind the dried bread crusts for breading.

6. Bread the cutlets in bread crumbs.

7. Semi-finished cutlets can be cooked immediately or frozen for later.

8. Depending on the quantity of simultaneous cooking of the cutlets, either fry them in a frying pan on both sides until cooked.

9. Or fry and then bake on a greased baking sheet in the oven (at 200 degrees until the juice runs clear, the time depends on the properties of the oven and the thickness of the cutlets).

10. The cutlets are ready like in the school canteen.
