There is a festive atmosphere all around, sometimes so contagious that even the most enthusiastic cook wants to relax and spend time doing nothing, enjoying communication with his loved ones. At such a time, and, indeed, on any other day of the year, a delicious looking and tasting dessert will help you out - the Black Forest trifle!

This dessert is a real lifesaver. Prepares in a matter of minutes, looks incredibly tempting, and tastes simply bliss! Imagine a combination of aromas and flavors - moist, soaked chocolate sponge cake, silky, cool chocolate custard, juicy cherry and the smoothest cloud of whipped cream. Is it possible to resist him?! And most importantly, if desired, dessert can be prepared from ready-made ingredients in just a few minutes. Try it!

Pitted cherries – 500 g

Sugar – 2-3 tbsp.

Cherry juice – 100-150 ml

Chocolate sponge cake - 600 g

Custard (chocolate) – 500 ml

Cream – 250 g

For decoration/optional:

Chocolate – 2-3 pinches

Mint – 1 sprig

1. Prepare the components according to the list. Prepare dishes for serving dessert. The dessert can be served either in one large form or in small portion forms or glasses. It is preferable that the dishes are transparent, so the layers of the dessert will be visible.

2. Sprinkle frozen pitted cherries with sugar and defrost completely. I defrost the cherries in a water bath, but you can use the microwave or just leave the cherries at room temperature for a few hours to let the process happen naturally.

3. Instead of frozen cherries, you can use cherries canned in their own juice. In this case, separate the fruits from the juice. Add sugar to the juice to taste and stir until completely dissolved (to speed up the process, the juice can be slightly warmed). In this recipe we need both cherry juice and the fruits themselves. Soak the chocolate biscuit in the juice and add the fruits as a filling.

4. Cut the chocolate sponge cake into small cubes. You can buy ready-made sponge cake or prepare it at home in advance. Place the biscuit in the chosen form, filling it about 1 third.

5. Separate the cherries from the juice and pour the juice over the biscuit.

6. Instead of juice, you can use alcohol (rum, brandy or good cognac) or mix juice with alcohol (proportions to taste).

7. Add a layer of cherries. If you have time, let the dessert sit a little so that the biscuit is saturated with juice. I cover the dessert with cling film and put it in the refrigerator overnight. And I also make homemade chocolate custard in the evening. If you are preparing a dessert spontaneously and there is no time to prepare the cream, you can buy ready-made custard or a mixture for quickly preparing the cream. Of course, cream from the supermarket is not an ideal option, but it will still turn out delicious.

8. Spread the chocolate custard over the cherry layer. It is desirable that the cream be quite thick. This cream will not spread, and all the layers in the dessert will be clearly visible.

9. Decorate the dessert with whipped cream.

10. To decorate, add a few pinches of chocolate chips, a cherry or a few mint leaves, and then serve.
