Water may affect the taste and/or texture of some foods.
In the process of preparing food, both professional chefs and housewives pay a lot of attention to safety. It is important that not only work surfaces and utensils are clean, but also the food itself - this further reduces the risk of food poisoning and various diseases. But not all foods need to be washed before cooking:
Eggs

The sterility of the shell does not affect the safety of the eggs. Washing can damage the surface of the shell, increasing the risk of bacteria getting inside the egg.

Oranges, tangerines and lemons do not need to be washed at all. Possible contamination may only be on the peel, but we peel it off when eating fruit. Simply wipe the fruit with a damp paper towel - this will prevent bacteria from the peel from settling on your hands and you will enjoy a tasty and safe fruit.
Avocado

The peel of the fruit is inedible and we peel it off, but bacteria from the peel cannot penetrate into the pulp. To make your meal as safe as possible, just wipe the avocado with a napkin slightly moistened with water, and then cut off the peel.
And there is also no need to wash shelled peanuts, frozen legumes and vegetables - they are processed and ready to eat.
