If you don’t like fiddling with dough, and your household demands something baked, jellied pie with cabbage is an excellent solution to your problem!
I don’t consider myself a lazy housewife, but I don’t like fiddling with dough at all. Fortunately for me, you can now buy any dough in the store and quickly prepare something from it for the whole family. But sometimes there is no dough in the freezer, but you need to bake a pie, and in such cases this recipe personally helps me out. Its beauty is that you can use any filling, and the dough always consists of a standard set of products.
Lazy cabbage pie is one of my family's favorites. Excellent juicy filling, golden brown crust, delicate dough structure - what more do you need?
Let's prepare ingredients for making a quick cabbage pie for the lazy using kefir. The set of products is basic; in addition to cabbage, you can add other ingredients to the filling: mushrooms, carrots, leeks, bell peppers. This time I will only add carrots. It is better to take young cabbage, it is juicier and more tender.

White cabbage - 200 g
Kefir - 300 ml
Chicken eggs - 2 pcs.
Carrots - 70 g
Soda - 0.5 tsp.
Flour - 2 cups
Butter - 50 g
Ground nutmeg - 10 g
Sesame seeds - 1 tsp.

1. Using a shredder or a special grater, chop the cabbage and grate the carrots on a medium grater. We crush the cabbage and carrots with our hands a little so that they release the juice.
2. Melt the butter in a saucepan and place the carrots and cabbage in the saucepan. Add spices and salt; nutmeg goes very well with cabbage dishes. Fry vegetables over medium heat for 10-15 minutes until soft.
3. Meanwhile, prepare the jellied dough. Pour kefir into a bowl, add chicken eggs, soda and salt. The soda will begin to be quenched with kefir and may hiss, it should be so, do not be alarmed.
4. Gradually add flour and stir the dough until it becomes homogeneous.
5. Line any baking dish with parchment paper. Grease the paper with vegetable oil.
6. Pour half of the dough into the mold.
7. Now spread our filling evenly.
8. Fill the filling with the rest of the dough, helping yourself with a spoon, evenly distributing the dough over the filling.
9. You can sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the pie, if desired. Place the pie in an oven preheated to 180 degrees C for 40 minutes.
IMPORTANT: times indicated are approximate. It all depends on the size of the pan in which you will bake the cake. I have a large mold, 30 cm, the cake will not be high and will bake faster than one baked in a mold with a smaller diameter. In order for everything to work out well for you and the pie to bake, after 30 minutes, check its readiness with a wooden skewer by piercing it through the middle of the pie. If the skewer is wet, the cake is not ready yet. Give it another 10 minutes and check the readiness of the pie again as described above.
10. Cook the pie until the match (skewer) is dry.
11.Remove the finished lazy cabbage pie from the oven and leave it in the mold for 10 minutes, then carefully remove it from the mold.
