At its core, it is something between a hearty omelette and a multi-layer casserole.

A simple, nutritious and incredibly tasty dish that can be prepared without much hassle and can be an excellent option for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The base of eggs and milk gives the dish tenderness, airiness, volume and juiciness, and the hearty filling of pieces of bread, meat, cheese and herbs gives a fantastic aroma and taste. Try it!

Ингредиенты

Chicken egg – 7 pcs.

Milk - 300 ml

Baked pork/bacon/sausage – 350 g

Bread – 250 g

Cheese – 100-150 g

Green onions/fresh herbs - to taste

Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp.

Mixture of dried herbs - to taste

Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp.

Butter – for greasing the pan

Salt - to taste

Ground black pepper - to taste

Рецепт

1. Grate the cheese and finely chop the green onions. Cut bread and smoked meat into small cubes. I use boiled smoked pork, but you can use any aromatic meat that you can find in the house. Bacon, brisket, sausage, sausages, leftover baked meat are suitable.

2. Fry the pieces of meat in a small amount of vegetable oil until golden brown. Then remove the meat and set aside for a while.

3. Add sliced bread to the pan with the remaining meat juice and butter and, stirring, fry for 2-3 minutes so that it absorbs all the flavors.

4. In a separate container, combine eggs and milk.

5. Add salt, ground black pepper and dried herbs to taste. I add a mixture of Provençal herbs. Beat the mixture for several minutes until smooth.

6. Add chopped green onions and grated cheese and mix everything well again.

7. Grease a baking dish with butter.

8. Lay out the pieces of bread.

9. Add fried pieces of meat.

10. Pour in the prepared mixture of eggs and milk. At this stage, the dish can be covered with cling film, put in the refrigerator, and, depending on need, left overnight or for several hours, put in the oven shortly before serving.

11. Bake the prepared dish in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
