Following the “mulled wine from juice”, I propose another option for simulating mulled wine - non-alcoholic “mulled wine” based on compote...
Almost any dried fruit is suitable for compote, but preferably with a bright taste; dried apples alone may not be enough, so add something else (pears, prunes, figs, raisins). Additionally, for a pleasant shade of the drink, use fresh, frozen, dried or even jam berries, which give a red color and preferably a tart taste. I have frozen chokeberries.
Ингредиенты
Dried fruits - 2 full handfuls;
Water - 1-1.2 liters;
Sugar - from 4 tbsp. topped spoon to taste;
Fresh or frozen berries - 1 handful;
Fresh fruits - to taste;
Star anise or anise - optional;
Cinnamon - 1 stick;
Carnation - 1-3 inflorescences;
Cardamom - 1 box optional;
Pepper (pink or other) - to taste;
Ginger root - 1-2 sq. cm as desired.
Рецепт
1. Fresh fruits can have different tastes; lemons, tangerines, pears, oranges, apples are very much in keeping with the theme. The set of herbs and spices traditionally includes cinnamon, star anise, cloves, peppers, cardamom, and ginger.
2. Wash dried fruits, especially carefully if they are purchased. Put the compote to boil, immediately add all the dried fruits, berries, sugar and spices to the water. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium and simmer at a gentle simmer for 15 minutes.
3. Cut fresh fruit into slices or slices, grate or thinly slice the ginger. Here in the photo there is a tangerine and lemon, and I also added a fresh apple and pear...
4. Place them in the compote and cook for another five minutes over low heat under the lid.
5. Serve the non-alcoholic “mulled compote wine” hot.
