Quince baked in the oven (with sugar) is a delicious and healthy dessert that no one with a sweet tooth will refuse!

I cook baked quince with sugar regularly in the autumn season - such a delicacy is not only tasty, but also very healthy. Due to the fact that there is a lot of pectin in the fruit, the sugar syrup turns into jelly if the dish is allowed to cool, but in my family it has never reached this state - everything is eaten hot or warm. I recommend serving baked quince with honey, walnuts and other sweet additives.

The most remarkable thing about this fruit is that its taste is revealed only after heat treatment - when fresh, quince is simply stone, and it is not only impossible to chew it due to its tart taste, but even to bite off a piece of the fruit.

Use yellowed fruits for cooking. If they are still greenish, then put them on the window or on the balcony, place them with apples - they will ripen in 2-3 days.

1. On the surface of each quince fruit there is a dense fleecy layer. Rinse it off with water using the hard side of the sponge. Cut off the convex part of each fruit and make a small indentation. Unlike apples, you cannot remove the seeds from quince, so bake the fruit with them.

2. Pour 1 tbsp into each cavity. granulated sugar. If you wish, you can add vanilla sugar or flavoring. Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the quince with sugar for about 25-30 minutes.

3. It is best to overcook the quince a little so that it becomes soft inside - check this with a knife. Remove the finished dish from the oven and let it cool slightly at room temperature.

4. Place on plates or saucers, pour over honey or any other sweet sauce, sprinkle with walnut kernels and serve for dessert.
