During the fasting period, I suggest preparing an incredibly tasty, aromatic and spicy dish - red lentil curry.

If desired, you can add bell peppers, carrots, and fresh tomatoes to the lentil curry; all these vegetables will make the taste much richer. There are also options not made with water or vegetable broth, but with coconut milk. If the curry paste is not spicy enough for you, add a little chili pepper and don’t forget about fresh herbs, cilantro will come in handy here.

Ингредиенты

Red lentils - 200 g

Onions - 80 g

Garlic - 1-2 cloves

Ginger (root) - 1 cm

Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.

Curry paste - see package recommendations

Turmeric - 0.5 tsp.

Salt and pepper - to taste

Sugar - to taste

Water (vegetable broth) - 250-300 g

Рецепт

1. Peel the onion, garlic and ginger. Cut the onion into small or medium cubes, grate the garlic and ginger on a fine grater. Fry everything in vegetable oil for a couple of minutes.

2. Add curry paste and turmeric. Although turmeric is included in the paste, with aromatic fresh powder the finished dish becomes much tastier.

3. Pour in warm water from the kettle, dilute the paste so that there are no lumps, add thoroughly washed lentils.

4. Add enough water or vegetable broth to completely cover the lentils. If desired, you can add tomato paste or tomato sauce. Add salt and a pinch of sugar, as well as ground black pepper. Bring to a boil, turn the heat to low and cook covered for about 10 minutes.

5. Very tasty and aromatic lentil curry can be served. If you have fresh cilantro, you can sprinkle it on the finished dish.
