I will share with you my favorite recipe for compote without sterilization - from apples and dogwoods. Assorted compote always has a unique taste.
Apple compote with dogwood is tasty and rich. The pleasant, slightly tart taste of dogwood and the aroma of fragrant apples - this preparation will brighten up even the gloomiest winter day! We prepare the necessary products. The amount of ingredients is given based on a 3 liter jar.

Apples – 1 kg (or 800 g peeled from the seed box)
Dogwood – 250 g
Sugar – 450 g
Water – 2 l

1. Wash the jar thoroughly with warm water and baking soda, and then sterilize it over steam. To do this, place a wire rack over a pan of boiling water. Place the jar on the grill, neck down. Leave the jar in this state until large drops begin to form inside. A 3 liter jar needs to be sterilized for 20-25 minutes.
2. Separately (or in the same pan over which the jar was placed) sterilize the lid for 15 minutes.
3. Place the sterilized lid and jar upside down on a clean towel or napkin until completely dry.
4. Remove the stalks of the dogwood. We wash the dogwoods, sort them and dry them.
5. Wash and dry the apples.
6. Cut the apple into 8 parts.
7. Cut out the remains of the seed pod.
8. We do this with all apples.
9. Place the apples in a sterilized jar.
10. Sprinkle dogwood on top of the apples.
11. Bring water to a boil using any method. Pour boiling water over the apples and dogwoods in the jar to the top.
12. Cover the jar with a sterilized lid and leave to blanch for 15 minutes.
13. After the time has passed, carefully drain the water from the jar into the pan. I got 2 liters of water. From this amount of water we will prepare syrup.
Pour sugar into the water in a saucepan, bring to a boil and cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes.
14. Pour hot syrup over apples and dogwood.
15. Seat the jar with a sterilized lid.
16. Turn the rolled up jar upside down, wrap it in a blanket and leave it in this state until it cools completely (maybe for a day).
17. This is such a beautiful apple and dogwood compote for the winter. Before winter, the compote will infuse and become even tastier, brighter and more beautiful.
