Mackerel with mayonnaise in the oven

I recommend that all lovers of delicious fatty fish save this wonderful recipe.
Personally, I make sure to cook mackerel at least 3-4 times a month - it’s incredibly healthy! But I don’t cook with mayonnaise so often - it turns out very tasty, but also very high in calories, so don’t get carried away. I serve boiled potatoes or rice as a side dish.

Mackerel - 1 pc.
Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp.
Onions - 1 pc.
Seasoning for fish dishes - 1 tsp.
Salt - to taste

1. First, gut the mackerel, rinse under running water, cut off the head, tail and fins, separate the fillets from the bones, no need to remove the skin.
2. Peel the onion and cut it as you like - I like to cut it smaller. Place in a frying pan heated with vegetable oil and, stirring, fry over medium heat until golden brown.
3. Place the fried onions in mayonnaise, add fish spices, salt and mix.
4. Cover a heat-resistant form or baking sheet with parchment and place the mackerel fillet, skin side down, no need to add salt, the mayonnaise will saturate the fish with spices during the cooking process. Advice! To prevent the skin from burning to the bottom of the pan or to the baking sheet, I recommend covering it with baking paper - the skin will become crispy and remain intact, and the parchment will absorb excess fat.
5. Place the mayonnaise mixture on the mackerel fillet and smooth it out, place in an oven preheated to 190 degrees for 30 minutes.
Advice! Check your oven; you may need a little more or a little less time for baking: as soon as the top is browned, the fish is ready.
6. Fragrant, appetizing mackerel baked in the oven with mayonnaise is ready.
