A quick recipe for direct salted mackerel at home. A day later, the fish can be served as an appetizer for the holiday table.

Mackerel is a fatty fish, “fragrant” and quite boneless. In cooking it is used to prepare various dishes: from snacks to main dishes. Mackerel meat is believed to have medicinal properties. Mackerel is rich in minerals, unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins that activate immune processes.

Salted mackerel for an appetizer is ideal for a holiday table. Today I cut the mackerel into pieces and directly salted it. Exactly one day later I will serve it to the New Year's table with fragrant oil and green onions. You can pickle mackerel for the Christmas holidays, on February 23rd - for men with strong drinks, or simply as an addition to potatoes, for example, for dinner. The recipe is so simple and accessible – you won’t want it any other way. Mackerel in brine takes longer.

So, let’s prepare dry-salted festive mackerel at home. The ingredients go according to the list.

Ингредиенты

Mackerel - 2 pcs.

Bay leaf - 2 pcs.

Salt - 1.5-2 tbsp.

Pepper mixture - 3 pinches

1. We wash the mackerel from the entrails. Remove the head and cut off the tail. The inside of the belly should be clean.

2. Cut into small pieces of the same width.

3. Sprinkle the pieces with salt on all sides. We treat the belly with salt too. Place the pieces in a glass container, add a mixture of peppers and bay leaves. Close the container with a lid. We put the mackerel in the refrigerator until the morning.

4. After 24 hours, remove from the refrigerator. Divide into pieces convenient for serving. Decorate with green onions, herbs, berries. Drizzle with sunflower oil.

5. Dry salted mackerel at home is ready!
