Bigus (bigos) is a very tasty and easy-to-prepare cabbage dish. Try our recipe for bigus with meat, mushrooms and bacon!

Bigus, the recipe is common among the Slavic and Baltic peoples. The classic bigus recipe is the pride of Polish and Belarusian cuisine. In Russia, bigus is often called solyanka. This recipe is also called bigos.

Ингредиенты

Fresh white cabbage - 1 head

Pickled white cabbage - 200 g

Pork - 500 g

Bacon - 150 g

Champignon mushrooms - 150 g

Tomatoes - 2 pcs.

Onions - 1 pc.

Garlic - to taste

Tomato paste - 2-3 tbsp. spoons

Seasonings - to taste

Salt - to taste

Ground black pepper - to taste

Рецепт

1. Grind all ingredients in random order.

2. Fry the meat in a pan with vegetable oil. Add salt and pepper.

3. At the same time, fry the onion in vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add bacon and mushrooms to it.

4. Add sauerkraut and fresh cabbage to the fried meat. Cover with a lid and leave the cabbage and meat to simmer over medium heat.

5. Add your favorite seasonings, salt and pepper to the pan with fried onions, bacon and mushrooms. Also add tomato pieces and chopped garlic.

6. Once the fresh cabbage is soft, add the bacon-mushroom mixture and a few tablespoons of tomato paste. Mix well and simmer the bigus with meat and mushrooms for another 10 minutes.

7. Ideally, the bigus should sit for about an hour, but you can start eating right away.
