Mackerel can be cooked in the microwave in literally 10 minutes - this sea fish is quite unpretentious! I know recipes for preparing it in 3 minutes, but since the microwave first heats the liquid, it is best to increase the time to 10 minutes. It is relevant for chopped carcass, not a whole one! A whole cleaned fish carcass should be cooked for at least 15-20 minutes, completely immersed in liquid. By the way, you don’t have to throw out the broth after cooking - it’s rich and aromatic, and you can use it to create a delicious fish soup.
Add your favorite spices and seasonings for a flavorful and delicious dish. If desired, it is permissible to add finely chopped carrots and onions, previously peeled and washed. Thoroughly clean the carcass of the black film inside, which is bitter, and be sure to remove the blood that has accumulated inside on the spine so that cloudy foam does not form in the container during cooking.

1. Mackerel is sold frozen, so defrost it slightly, cut off the head with fins, open the belly and thoroughly clean the inside of the carcass. Rinse and cut into portions. Place them in a deep container without silver or golden designs, a microwave-safe container.
2. Add salt, bay leaves, black peppercorns.
3. Pour in warm water, ideally boiling water, so that the equipment does not waste time heating the liquid. Place the container in the microwave and turn on the timer for 10 minutes.
4. After 5 minutes, check the condition of the dish and boil until done. Carefully remove the container.
5. Place the mackerel cooked in the microwave on plates or a platter, garnish to taste and serve warm with various sauces or side dishes.
